Welcome. I’m Xiaolin Shi.
This is a space where I share my work in economics, data, and education.
About Me:
Hi, I am Xiaolin Shi, an Associate Teaching Professor of Economics at Northeastern University. My work centers on applied econometrics, data-driven analysis, and demographic research, with a strong focus on connecting economic theory to real-world practice. I am particularly interested in policy evaluation and the practical application of quantitative methods, and I also engage in various forms of data science.
βIn my teaching, I emphasize experiential learning and hands-on approaches that help students develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills. I work closely with students to prepare them for careers in data analysis, consulting, and related fields. I also serve as the faculty leader of the Dialogue of Civilizations program, China’s Economic Rise: Innovation and Global Business Strategy, which offers students immersive, on-the-ground learning experiences in China’s rapidly evolving economic environment.β
This website serves as a curated record of my academic and professional work. It is designed to provide visitors with a clear and accessible way to explore my research, teaching, and projects. I hope the content here not only informs but also inspires continued learning, intellectual curiosity, and personal growth.β
Outside of my professional work, I am an avid admirer of Yuzuru Hanyu, whose dedication and artistry I find deeply inspiring.
